Camera down, DVR not booting, or footage missing? We fix it — and with an AMC, we usually catch the problem before it happens.
Most "the system's broken" calls come down to one of these six issues. Here's what's usually going on before our technician even arrives.
Usually a loose BNC/power connector, a blown fuse on the DVR channel, or a camera that's failed outright. We test the run from camera to recorder to isolate which one before replacing anything.
IR LEDs degrade over years of nightly use, or a cracked housing lets in moisture and fogs the lens. Sometimes it's just the day/night sensor stuck in day mode — a quick fix, not always a new camera.
Often a failing hard disk or a corrupted firmware update. We check the drive first since a recorder replacement is far more expensive than a disk swap.
Almost always a full or failing hard disk that's silently stopped recording, or motion-detection settings that were changed by mistake. We check actual recorded duration against your disk size, not just whether the system is 'on'.
Common in older analog setups where cable runs are exposed on outside walls. Re-terminating or re-running the affected segment is usually enough — the whole system rarely needs re-wiring.
Typically a P2P/cloud ID that's expired or a router/ISP change that broke port forwarding. We reconfigure remote access as part of every repair visit, not just the on-site fix.
